Programming at Cornerstone
When the school day ends, Cornerstone becomes a place where students can belong,
be encouraged, and be themselves. Our after-school programming combines safe
supervision with meaningful opportunities for connection, creativity, and growth —
all led by caring adults who are intentionally invested in each student’s life.
During June and July, we remain open to continue serving families by providing
consistent afternoon care and thoughtfully designed summer experiences.
Spaces Students Can Explore
These spaces are open during after-school programming and allow students the
freedom to choose how they spend their time in a safe, supervised environment.
The SkatePark
Our SkatePark is one of the most active spaces in the building. It features
professionally built skate ramps, a half-court basketball gym, and a 19-foot indoor
climbing wall. This space encourages movement, confidence-building, and healthy
physical activity.
The Café
The Café provides a quieter, more relaxed environment. Students can work on
homework, play card or board games, or enjoy meaningful conversations with friends.
It’s a great option for students who need a calm space to recharge.
The Mix
The Mix is our large-group gathering space. This is where students come together
for shared meals, collaborative games, and faith-based lessons that encourage
growth in identity, purpose, and faith. During free time, activities include pool,
ping-pong, carpetball, Wii-U, and more.
The Music Room
In the Music Room, students are invited to explore and develop their musical
talents. With access to instruments such as electric guitars, drums, keyboards,
and more, students can practice independently or learn from volunteers who love
investing in young musicians.
Programs & Experiences
In addition to open spaces, Cornerstone offers structured programs and experiences
designed to help students grow, explore new interests, and build confidence.
Creative Arts Club
Every Friday from 5:30–6:30 PM, students can participate in Creative
Arts Club — a hands-on, experience-driven program that changes monthly. Each month
introduces a new creative, life, or job-related skill taught by individuals with
real-world experience.
Past experiences have included photography, cake decorating, jewelry making,
graffiti art, watercolor painting, and more. Creative Arts Club gives students the
opportunity to discover new interests and talents in a supportive environment.
Where Are We Wednesdays
Where Are We Wednesdays is a summer experience designed to help students explore
beyond their everyday surroundings. Throughout the summer, youth participate in
off-site adventures to places they may not otherwise have the opportunity to visit.
These outings may include hiking local trails, lake days, trips to ice cream shops,
visits to parks and pools, and many other fun and enriching destinations. Each
experience is supervised by caring staff and volunteers and focuses on discovery,
connection, and making lasting memories.
Service Projects
Throughout the year, students have opportunities to participate in service
projects that help them engage with and care for the community around them. These
projects allow students to see real needs, build empathy, and understand the
impact they can have through serving others.
Through hands-on service, students are encouraged to live out their faith by
loving others the way Jesus did — not just in words, but through action. Service
projects help students grow in compassion, responsibility, and awareness of the
world beyond themselves.
Why This Matters
At Cornerstone, after-school programming is about more than filling time — it’s
about creating a place where students feel known, supported, and encouraged to
grow. By offering both flexible spaces and intentional experiences, students are
able to build confidence, form healthy relationships, and discover new possibilities
for their lives.
